Beck was sworn in as City Judge on January 3, 1961; and, WHEREAS, he has served in that capacity for eight (8) years and has submitted his resignation effective as of May 19, 1969, because of ill health; and, WHEREAS, he has throughout his years of service championed the cause of the individual, the underprivileged, and strived to administer justice tempered with understand- ing. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMIS- SIONERS OF SALT LAKE CITY, that said board, in its own behalf and in behalf of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City, does hereby express to Judge Horace C. Beck its sincere thanks and appreciation for his years of service. The City Recorder is hereby directed to deliver a copy of this resolution to Judge Beck.
