RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, FOR A COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING ASSISTANCE GRANT AS AUTHORIZED BY SECTION 701 OF THE HOUSING ACT OF 1954, AS AMENDED, (40 U.S.C. 461). WHEREAS, Salt Lake City has heretofore been certified by the Department of Housing and Urban Development to participate in Section 701 Comprehensive Planning Assistance Program; and WHEREAS, the present Comprehensive Planning Assistance Program will expire on June 30, 1974; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of Salt Lake City to apply for this grant and said grant is necessary in order for the City to obtain Federal participation in developing the planning and management capacity of the City, NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City: 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby authorize the filing of an application on behalf of Salt Lake City Corporation with the Department of Housing and Urban Development for the Section 701 Comprehensive Planning Assistance Program. 2. That E. J. (Jake) Garn, Mayor of Salt Lake City, Utah, is hereby authorized to execute and file said application on behalf of Salt Lake City Corporation, and to act in connection with said application and to provide such additional information as may be required.
