RESOLUTION .�
Result }
WHEREAS, The Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City has'
declined to enact that certain ordinance which would place the
Police Department under Civil Service regulations; and
WHEREAS, It is deemed advisable that an explanation be made
of the attitude of this Board of Commissioners on the general
question of Civil Service as applied to city employees:
NOT THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Board of Commissioners
of Salt Lake City favors the enactment of a State law governing
this important subject, which law shall apply to all the employees
of the City, but shall exclude from its provisions certain heads
and sub-heads of departments whose selection shall remain exclusively
within the jurisdiction of this Board of Commissioners.
RESOLVED FURTHER, That since the details of this question are
of great concern to the taxpayers of this city, especially such
provisions as may be made for pensions or other additional
' expenditures, this entire matter be, and it hereby is referred to
the Board of Estimate and Apportionment.
