Milk Ordinance and Code does not insist upon compulsory pasteurization of all milk for the reason that such a position would be contrary to the principles of public health statesmanship in that no public health movement can proceed faster than the health education of the public; and VIHEREAS, large numbers of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City are demanding the right to use raw milk and many of them con- tending that a pasteurization of milk adversely affects its health- fulness and growth promoting capacities; and • WHEREAS, sane physicians of Salt Lake City are prescrib- ing raw milk for their patients. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commission- ers of Salt Lake City that said Board ofwmmissioners does not at this time favor the complete pasteurization of all milk sold or con- dumed within the corporate limits of said city; that the Law Depart- ment of Salt Lake City be instructed to cooperate with the Board of Health and Health Department of said city with a view of providing any and all sanitary regulations necessary to produce the highest grade of pure raw milk for the benefit of those of the inhabitants of said city who desire to use the samec r,�. y Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Yake City, Utah, this 10'day of -(, A.D Mayor.
