Result
WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of Salt Lake City and the Housing
Authority of the County of Salt Lake are to construct an elderly housing
apartment complex in Salt Lake City; and
WHEREAS, the preliminary plans have been designed to include only
stall showers throughout, due to suggestion by the Department of Housing and
Urban Development; and
WHEREAS, the concensus among many public groups is that some
bathtubs are a vital necessity in the project and will better fulfill the
needs of some elderly residents; and
WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of Salt Lake City has unanimously
supported a change by resolution; and
WHEREAS, it is the judgment of the Commission of Salt Lake City
that the needs and desires of the elderly must be considered;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Salt Lake Board of Commissioners
that the plans and specifications be amended to include the installation of
a bathtub and shower combination with a 50% ratio throughout the two buildings.

April , 1973.
That the Chairman of the City Commission be authorized to sign in
behalf of the Salt Lake City Commission.
