RESOLUTION
Result
TRAFFIC SAFETY WEEK
WHEREAS, conscientious driving and the need to develop good
habits as pedestrians and drivers needs to be stressed; and
WHEREAS, during the week of April 17, through April 22, 1978,
a program designed for our young people called the "Safety City
Project" will be in progress at the ZCMI Mall and is being spon-
sored by the Salt Lake City Exchange Club; and
WHEREAS, this program will allow school children and adults
to walk through and familiarize themselves with the responsibility
of the motorist and pedestrian; and
WHEREAS, the Safety City Project is fully supported by the
Salt Lake City Police Department and by the Board of Commissioners
of Salt Lake City; and
WHEREAS, this particular time gives the greatest stability to
handle a large number of children and adults with the greatest of
ease,
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Commissioners
of Salt Lake City, Utah, as follows:
The Salt Lake City Board of Commissioners do hereby resolve
that the week of April 17, through April 22, 1978, shall be desig-
nated as "Traffic Safety Week" in all of Salt Lake City.
Be it further resolved that the Board of Commissioners do
hereby set aside said week for the promotion of traffic safety
both as to motorists and pedestrians and a week specifically
designated for the awareness of traffic safety.
