Mr.Chairman Result RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City Council of Salt Lake City by an ordinance passed May 27, 1907, and approved by the Mayor May 28, 1907, granted a franchise to the Utah Light and Railway Company, which franchise is now to owned by the Utah Light and Traction Company,/construot, operate and maintain a single or double track railroad, together with all the necessary switches and turnouts for the accommodation of said road, on the following streets of said City, namely: On Fifth North Street from Second West Street to Fourth West Street; thence north on said street, and the continuation thereof north of Ninth North Street to the County Road; thence northwesterly along the west side of said County Road, a distanoe of 1,900 feet; and WHEREAS, one of the provisions of said franchise required the said grantee to ran cars over the tracks on said streets at least twice each way each and every hour or as often as the City Counoil may require, for a period of not less than sixteen hours each day; and WHEREAS, the above mentioned Utah Light and Traction Company and numerous residents along the line of said road north of said Ninth North Street have petitioned the Board of Commissioners to permit the said Company to suspend that part of said franchise which requires the said Company to operate oars twice each way each and every hour above Ninth North Street to the County Road, as described in said franchise: NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that that part of the franchise above mentioned which requires the said Utah Light and 'Traction Company to operate oars on its tracks twice each way each and every hour from Ninth North Street to the County Road, as mentioned in said franchise, be, and the same is hereby suspended for the period of seven years from this date, and from that time during ;he please a of t 3pard of Commissioners.
