Result RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Max S. Hanauer, Chairman of the Board of
Directors of the Free Public Library, of salt Lake City, de-
parted this life on August 26, 1936, after a career of excep-
tional usefulness and service in the community; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting that the Board of Commissioners
of Salt Lake City should at this time record its appreciation of
the splendid character and worth of Mr. Hanauer; an'
WHEREAS, his departure is a substantial loss to Salt
Lake City and its citizens and a deep sorrow to the board of Com-
missioners and other city officials, all of whom held him in the
highest esteem.
NUB, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the board of Commis-
sioners of Salt Lake City does hereby express its high appreciation
of the fine character and public career of Mr. Hanauer. He served
the city well as Chairman of the board of Directors of the Free
Public Library. He was a cultured man beloved by all of his friends
who mourn his passing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that these resolutions be spread
upon the minutes of this meeting.
