Moyle, a member of the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, passed from mortal life on September 18, 1963; and WHEREAS, President Moyle played an important and distinguished part in the life and growth of Salt Lake City, the State of Utah, and the church with which he was affiliated; and WHEREAS, by reason of his integrity, his dynamic and aggressive personality, his courage and strong convictions, he greatly influenced and gave direction to all undertakings of which he was a part; and WHEREAS, he distinguished himself as a forceful and competent lawyer, a highly successful businessman, a devoted and beloved churchman, and a kind and gracious husband and father; and WHEREAS, by reason of his vision, faith and tireless effort, he added to the well-being of the community in which he lived, and to the growth and stature to the church over which he helped preside; and WHEREAS, Salt Lake City, the State of Utah and the religious community, both within and without the church which he so capably served, have suffered a deep and untimely loss; 2 _ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF SALT LAKE CITY that tribute is hereby expressed for the life and work of President Henry D. Moyle, for his great contributions to the welfare and growth of this city, the State of Utah, and to the financial and religious interests he so ably served. Tribute is further paid for the example he set; the courage, determination, integrity, perseverance and the pursuit of laudable goals in life. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby expressed on behalf of the citizens of Salt Lake City deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to the family of President Moyle. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Recorder transmit a copy of this Resolution to the family of President Moyle. Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this 19th day of September, 1963.
