RESOLUTION
Result . . . .
WHEREAS, Salt Lake City has signified its intention to erect
and maintain a flagpole and appurtenances at Fairmont Park, in Salt
Lake City, in honor and memory of the lat John F. Kennedy, President
of the United States of America; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Wayne Garred of Louisa, Kentucky, has presented to
Salt Lake City a beautiful and suitable flag of the United States to
fly from said flagpole; and
WHEREAS, in making such gift Mr. Garred has exhibited a most
commendable public spirit and sincere respect and admiration for our
late President, and Salt Lake City and its citizens deeply appreciate
both the spirit and the gift:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
SALT LAKE CITY that there is hereby expressed to Mr. Wayne Garred the
deep and sincere appreciation of Salt Lake City and its citizens for
this generous and most appropriate gift and for the spirit of love
and respect for the United States of America and its late President
that prompted the giving.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this resolution
be forwarded to Mr. Wayne Garred at Louisa, Kentucky.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 13th day of August, 1964.
