RESOLUTION
Result
WHEREAS, it is necessary to expand the facilities of the Salt
Lake City International Airport by installing a third runway and
attendant service facilities within the boundaries of the Salt Lake
City International Airport, and
WHEREAS, the public interest and necessity require the acquisi-
tion of the real property hereinafter described for such improvements:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH:
That it is necessary and in the public interest of Salt Lake
City and its inhabitants that the City, for the use of the public,
immediately make soil tests and surcharge the soil on said real
property in order to install and expand facilities of the Salt Lake
City International Airport through the installation of a third runway
and attendant facilities, all of which is within the boundaries of the
Salt Lake City International Airport.
That said land hereinafter described and the whole thereof is
hereby determined to be necessary for said improvements as hereinabove
described.
That condemnation proceedings be, and the same hereby are,
authorized to be brought in the name of Salt Lake City by the Law
Department of Salt Lake City, to acquire thereby all the land herein-
after described for the necessary construction of said third runway
and attendant facilities as hereinabove set forth.
The parcels of land hereby authorized to be acquired by condem-
nation proceedings in accordance with the provisions of the statutes
and the Constitution of the State of Utah relating to eminent domain
are situated in the County of Salt Lake, State of Utah, and are more
particularly described as follows:

Beginning at the southwest corner of Section 31, T. 1
N., R. 1 W., Salt Lake Base and Meridian and running thence
North 548.5 feet to the south line of North Temple Street;
thence N. 89' 58' E. 2647.37 feet along said south line;
thence S. 0° 07' 18" E. 547.2 feet; thence S. 89° 56' 24"
W. 2648.53 feet to the point of beginning. Contains 33.30
Acres.
Beginning at the northwest corner of Section 31, T. 1
N., R. 1 W., Salt Lake Base and Meridian and running thence
North 1320.0 feet; thence N. 89' 55' 42" E. 1787.60 feet;
thence South 1320 feet; thence N. 89' 55' 42" E. 1498.74
feet to the westerly right-of-way line of the Surplus Canal;
thence S. 41° 26' 38" E. 1759.19 feet along said right-of-
way line; thence S. 89° 55' 42" W. 1805.30 feet; thence S.

0° 04' 54" E. 466.00 feet; thence S. 89' 55' 42" W. 350.0
feet; thence S. 0° 04' 54" E. 125.0 feet; thence N. 89'
55' 42" E. 350.0 feet; thence S. 0' 04' 54" E. 729.15 feet;
thence S. 89' 55' 42" W. 470.0 feet to the easterly right-
of-way line of the Surplus Canal; thence N. 41° 26' 38" W.

R. 1 W., S.L.B.& M. thence S. 41' 26' 38" E. 1,759.19 feet
along said E. line; thence S. 89° 55' 42" W. 374.17 feet
to a point on the West right-of-way line of said Canal;

That in order to prevent any severance damages to the remaining
approximately 320 acres not condemned in this action, and belonging
to Jelco, Inc., and others,but contiguous with that land to be condemr
hereunder, the City will install a gravel road a minimum of forty feel
wide from shoulder to shoulder within the following described right-o
way:
Beginning at a point on the north line of North Temple
Street, said point being 899.70 feet north of the south-
east corner of Section 35, T. 1 N., R. 2 W., Salt Lake
Base and Meridian and running thence North along the

section line 4,281.3 feet to a point on the south line
of 700 North Street; thence West 80.0 feet along said
south line; thence South 4,281.3 feet to the north line
of North Temple Street; thence East 80.0 feet along said
north line to the point of beginning. Contains 7.863
acres.
