WHEREAS, Roy W. McLeese has been the City Engineer for approximately
14 years; and,
WHEREAS, he departed this life on the 12th day of October, 1963,
while occupying that important office; and,
WHEREAS, during his term of office as City Engineer, he has served
Salt Lake City and its inhabitants with the utmost fidelity and ability,
and has rendered services of outstanding worth and competency; and,
WHEREAS, in his passing Salt Lake City has lost a most devoted public
servant, whose prime interest was to serve the City and to do all in his
power to promote its interests, even at the sacrifice of his own health
and well being;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City, as follows:
That tribute is hereby expressed for the life and work of Roy W.
McLeese as city engineer, for his great contribution to the welfare, well
being and growth of this city, for his incomparable devotion as a public
servant and the example he has set to those in public employ.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby expressed on behalf of
the citizens of Salt Lake City deepest sympathy and sincere condolences
to the family of Roy W. McLeese.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Recorder transmit a copy of
this resolution to the family of Roy W. McLeese.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City this 15th
day of October, 1963.
