WHEREAS, Salt Lake City has heretofore been certified by the Department of Housing and Urban Development to participate in a Workable Program for Community Development; and WHEREAS, the present Workable Program expired on March 1, 1973; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of Salt Lake City to apply for recer- tification, said recertification being necessary in order for the City to obtain Federal participation in systematic code enforcement and redevelopment, NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City: 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby adopt the enclosed application and does further authorize its submission to the Department of Housing and Urban Development for approval. 2. That E. J. (Jake) Garn, Mayor of Salt Lake City, Utah, is • hereby authorized to execute and file said application on behalf of Salt Lake City Corporation with the Department of Housing and Urban Development for the Workable Program for Community Development.
