OF CONDOLENCE
WHEREAS, Orva'_ W. Adams passed from this life the 18th day
of May, 1968, at the age of 84 years; and
WHEREAS, during his long life he has been a great leader in bank-
ing, financial and business affairs, being President of the American
Bankers Association, the head of a large banking institution in Salt
Lake City for many years, and became known and honored for his fervent
advocacy of financial stability and integrity both in private business
and in governmental affairs; and
WHEREAS, he was also an ardent worker in civic affairs, raising
funds for community projects and giving generously of his own funds;
and
WHEREAS, he was a deeply religious man devoting much of his time
and talents to foster and support his church, and its activities; and
WHEREAS, his congenial and friendly spirit endeared him to all
classes of people, young and old; and
WHEREAS, in his passing, the city of Salt Lake and the State of
Utah, hava lost one of their most distinguished citizens;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, that it does hereby express, in its own behalf
and in behalf of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City, its deep and sincere
appreciation for the life and service of Orval W. Adams and for his
great contribution to the progress and growth of this community;
And, further, does hereby express to the family of Mr. Adams its
sincere sympathy in the loss they have sustained in his passing.
The City Recorder is hereby directed to deliver a copy of this
resolution to the family of Mr. Adams.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
22nd day of May, 1968.
