Result
WHEREAS, the 1973 session of the Utah Legislature
passed Senate Bill 121 providing for a Jordan River Authority
to oversee the activities of the Jordan River drainage; and
WHEREAS, part of the Jordan River Authority's duties will
be to administer the proposed Jordan River Parkway with which
Parkway concept the City is in general agreement; and
WHEREAS, Salt Lake City is desirous that the Parkway con-
cept be incorporated into its planning efforts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMIS-
SIONERS OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH:
1. That Salt Lake City does hereby express its general
approval of the Jordan River Parkway concept and desires to
cooperate with the agencies administrating same.
2. That the Parkway concept has for many years been an
integral part of the City Master Plan and that the City urges
the agencies involved in administrating said Parkway to consult
and cooperate with the City Planning Department so that the
Parkway as it is presently conceived shall be made compatible
with the present Master Plan.
3. That the Parkway concept and restrictions and regula-
tions necessary to effectuate same be incorporated into the
City's Planning and Zoning requirements, provided that said
restrictions and requirements are consistent with the City's
legal jurisdiction to so act and provided further that they
comport with fundamental rules of law.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah, this 24th day of April, 1973.
