The Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Salt Lake
County, Utah, met in regular public session at its regular meeting
place in Room 301, in the City and County Building in Salt Lake
City, Utah, at 10:00 o'clock A.M., on the 17thday of May
1978, with the following members of the Board of Commissioners
present, to-wit:

After the meeting had been called to order, the following
resolution was introduced in writing, was read in full and pursuant
to motion duly made by Com. Jennings Phillips, J;.and seconded by

After the meeting had been duly called to order and
the minutes of the preceding meeting read and approved, the City
Recorder presented to the board an affidavit evidencing the giving
of not less than twenty-four (24) hours public notice of the
agenda, date, time and place of the May 17 , 1978, meeting in
compliance with the requirements of Section 52-4-6(2), Utah Code
Annotated, 1953, as amended, by (1) posting written notice of the
meeting at the principal office of the board and (2) providing
notice to at least one newspaper of general circulation within the
geographic jurisdiction of Salt Lake City, Utah, or to a local
media correspondent. The affidavit was ordered recorded in the
minutes of the meeting and is as follows:

hereby certify, according to the records of said city in my
official possession, and upon my own knowledge and belief, that
in accordance with the requirements of Section 52-4-6(2), Utah
Code Annotated, 1953, as amended, I gave not less than twenty-four
(24) hours public notice of the agenda, date, time and place of the
May 17 , 1978, regular public meeting held by the Board of
Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah, by:
(a) causing a Notice of Public Meeting to be posted at the
principal office of the board at Room 200 in the City and County
Building, in Salt Lake City, Utah, on May 16 , 1978, at least
twenty-four (24) hours before the convening of the meeting, in
the form attached hereto as Exhibit A; said Notice of Public
Meeting having continuously remained so posted and available for
public inspection during the regular office hours of the board
until the convening of the meeting; and
(b) causing a copy of the Notice of Public Meeting in the
form attached hereto as Exhibit A to be provided on May 16 ,

the meeting, to The Deseret News , a newspaper of
general circulation within the geographic jurisdiction of Salt
Lake City, and to each local media correspondent, newspaper,

RESOLUTION NUMBER 27
A RESOLUTION appointing the election judges and alternates
to serve at each polling place, for the May 23, 1978
election upon the issuance of $42,000,000 Airport Revenue
Bonds of Salt Lake City, Utah.
WHEREAS by resolution adopted on April 11, 1978, a
special bond election has been called to be held in Salt Lake City,
Utah on May 23, 1978, upon the issuance of $42,000,000 Airport
Revenue Bonds; and
WHEREAS in Section 2 of said resolution of April 11,
1978, it was provided that the election judges and alternates to
serve at each polling place would be named by resolution to be
thereafter adopted; and
WHEREAS the City Recorder has compiled a list of the
Special Bond Election Consolidated Districts, polling places and
election officials to conduct said election and it is now desired
to appoint said officials, to authorize the City Recorder to take
all steps necessary in the instruction of such officials in carrying
out their duties as election officials at said special bond election,
and to direct the City Recorder to advise each such person of their
appointment as such election official;
NOW, THEREFORE, Be It and It Is Hereby Resolved by the
Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah,

Section 2. That upon the adoption of this resolution the
City Recorder is directed to advise each of the above named election
officials of their appointment to act as an election official in
connection with the aforesaid May 23, 1978, special bond election
and to instruct each of said election officials at such time or times
as may be convenient in their duties as election officials at the
special bond election.

Section 3. That each of the above named election officials
shall, before opening the polls on the day of the election, be
sworn as provided by law to perform all duties incumbent on them
as election officials and once sworn, such election officials may
administer any oath and receive any affidavit in connection with the
holding of said special bond election required or contemplated by
law.
Section 4. That if any election official is unable or
fails to attend or serve at the voting place for which he was
designated at the hour fixed for opening the polls, the other
election officials shall appoint, or in the absence of all election
officials the voters present shall elect, the necessary number of
election officials to serve in the place of the absent or delinquent
appointees.
Section 5. That immediately after its adoption this
resolution shall be signed by the Mayor and City Recorder, shall
be recorded in a book kept for that purpose and shall take immediate
effect.
