WHEREAS, Dennis J. Murphy departed this life Monday, November 5, 1962;
and,
WHEREAS, during his lifetime he was a great champion of athletics,
being especially interested in sponsoring various sports for the entertainment
and betterment of the youth of Salt Lake City and County; and,
8HEREAS, under his direction and active support many recreational and
sports features were organized and sponsored that brought favorable publicity tc
this area as well as wholesome entertainment to the public generally; and
NHEREAS, by his passing this community has lost a great benefactor to
the public welfare through his rare ability to create and direct the athletic
and entertainment activities above mentioned;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESCIEVED BY THE BOARD OF COIu;ISSIONERS OF SALT
LAKE CITY:
That the passing of Dennis J. Murphy is a great loss to this community;
that his contribution to the City and County of Salt Lake is gratefully
acknowledged; and that the Board of Commissioners extend to his family its deepest
sympathy and condolence at this time of bereavement.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this 8th
day of November, 1962.
