WHEREAS, it is necessary to improve the facilities of the Salt Lake City
International Airport by installing an instrument approach system, attendant
service facilities and an approach zone for the North-South runway of the Salt
Lake City International Airport; and
WHEREAS, the public interest and necessity require the acquisition of the
real property hereinafter described for such improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF SALT LAKE
CITY, UTAH:
That it is necessary and in the public interest of Salt Lake City and its
inhabitants that the City, for the use of the public, immediately obtain the
following described real property in order to establish an adequate approach zone
south of the existing easternmost North-South runway at said Airport in order to
implement and use the new instrument approach system presently being constructed
at and all of which is within the boundaries of the Salt Lake City International
Airport.
That said land hereinafter described and the whole thereof is hereby deter-
mined to be necessary for said improvements and approach zone as hereinabove
described.
That condemnation proceedings be, and the same hereby are, authorized to be
brought in the name of Salt Lake City by the Law Department of Salt Lake City,
to acquire thereby all the land hereinafter described for the necessary approach
zone as hereinabove set forth.
The parcel of land hereby authorized to be acquired by condemnation pro-
ceedings in accordance with the provisions of the statutes and the Constitution
of the State of Utah relating to eminent domain is situated in the County of Salt
Lake, State of Utah, and is more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point 100 feet North and 951 feet East from the
Southwest corner, Section 33, Township 1 North, Range 1 West, Salt
Lake Meridian, and running thence North 568.25 feet; thence East
370.65 feet; thence South 568.25 feet; thence West 370.65 feet to
the point of BEGINNING.
