Result
WHEREAS, the municipalities of Salt Lake City, South Salt Lake
City, Murray City, Midvale City, Sandy City, West Jordan City, South
Jordan City, Riverton City, the Town of Alta, and the Counties of
Salt Lake County, Davis County and Weber County are the municipalities
and counties comprising the public transit district known as the
Utah Transit Authority as evidenced by that Certificate of Amendment
of Utah Transit Authority dated January 21, 1976, executed by Clyde L.
Miller, Secretary of State and Lieutenant Governor, as shown in the
Official Records of the Office of Secretary of State for the State
of Utah; and
WHEREAS, Section 11-20-38, Utah Code Annotated 1953, as amended,
provides that population figures for determining representation on
the board of directors of public transit districts "shall be deter-
mined by the official United States Census or any other census agreed
upon by the governing body of the municipalities or counties compris-
ing the district;" and
WHEREAS, the undersigned representing the governing body of the
municipalities and counties comprising the transit district known as
the Utah Transit Authority have reviewed the report issued by the
United States Department of Commerce, Bureau of Census, Current Popu-
lation Reports, Population Estimates and Projections, Series P-25,
No. 692, dated April 1977, a copy of which is attached, and have
agreed that the population figures as contained in the said report
shall be the official population figures to be used in determining
representation by each county on the Board of Directors of the Utah
Transit Authority; and
WHEREAS, the population figures for the counties of Salt Lake
County, Davis County, and Weber County as contained in the above
described Bureau of Census publication for the year 1975, shows as
follows:

NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved and agreed to by the municipalities
of Salt Lake City, South Salt Lake City, Sandy City, West Jordan
City, South Jordan City, Riverton City, the Town of Alta, and the coun-
ties of Salt Lake County, Davis County, and Weber County, all of the
aforesaid being the municipalities and counties comprising the public
transit district known as the Utah Transit Authority, that the popu-
lation figures as contained in the United States Department of Com-
merce, Bureau of Census, Current Population Reports, Population
Estimates and Projections, Series P-25, No. 692, dated April 1977,
shall be used in determining representation on the Board of Directors
of the Utah Transit Authority, a public transit district, as provided
for in Section 11-20-38, Utah Code Annotated 1953, as amended, and
that said population figures shall be used until publication of the
official 1980 United States Census or until such time as some other
census is agreed upon provided by law.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
