WHEREAS, J. Alan Blodgett has rendered invaluable assistance
to Salt Lake City Corporation in lending his expertise and
administrative talents to the City during the City's transition
to the Council-Mayor form of government; and
WHEREAS, during the past year Mr. Blodgett has given freely
of his time and abilities in giving this assistance to the
City, and has faithfully and voluntarily served as the Acting
Director of the Office of Budget and Management Planning while still
carrying out his full time professional duties; and
WHEREAS, under his direction and guidance the City's budgetary
system under the Council-Mayor form of government was established
on a "Program Performance" basis; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Blodgett has helped in the restructuring of
the City's departments and operations and has served as a member
of the Mayor's cabinet and has provided timely and insightful
advice to the Council of Salt Lake City; and
WHEREAS, J. Alan Blodgett has rendered a great public and
community service to the City and the residents thereof;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of Salt
Lake City that they do hereby express on their behalf and on behalf
of the residents of Salt Lake City their sincere and deepest
appreciation and gratitude for the invaluable assistance and
service that J. Alan Blodgett has rendered to this community
in assisting in the transition to, and administration of, the
Council-Mayor form of government and by serving as the Acting
Director of the Office of Budget and Management Planning.
