RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION WITH
THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE FOR THE ESTAB-
LISHMENT OF A FOREIGN TRADE ZONE AS AUTHORIZED BY THE
FOREIGN TRADE ZONES ACT OF 1934, AS AMENDED (19 U.S.C.
81a-81u) , AS AMENDED BY PUBLIC LAW 566, 81ST CONGRESS,
APPROVED JUNE 17, 1950, AND PUBLIC LAW 791, 85TH CONGRESS,
APPROVED AUGUST 28, 1958.
WHEREAS, Salt Lake City is eligible to apply for establishing
a Foreign Trade Zone; and
WHEREAS, the advantages to be received from a Foreign Trade
Zone will enhance the quality of economic development in the City as
well as serve to help develop part of the City; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of Salt Lake City to establish a
Foreign Trade Zone in order to improve and upgrade the City's position
with respect to international trade;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF SALT LAKE CITY:
1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does
hereby authorize the filing of an application on behalf of Salt Lake
City Corporation with the United States Department of Commerce for
establishing a Foreign Trade Zone.
2. That Ted L. Wilson, Mayor of Salt Lake City, Utah, is hereby
authorized to execute and file said application on behalf of Salt Lake
City Corporation, and to act in connection with said application and to
provide such additional information as may be required.
