29 of 1981 - Resolution relating to fee increases for citizen use of the joint landfill - (Salt Lake Valley Solid RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, and Salt Lake
County Special District No. 1 have legal responsibilities with
regard to providing solid waste management and disposal services
to their citizens; and
WHEREAS, by agreements dated January 10, 1979, and
September 30, 1980, the parties have consolidated the management
of their respective solid waste disposal function under the
direction of the Salt Lake Valley Solid Waste Management Council
(hereinafter "Council") ; and
WHEREAS, under paragraph 9 of said agreement of September 30,
1980, certain actions of the Council are subject to approval by
each of the parties to that agreement; and
WHEREAS, it is proposed by the Council to increase fees for
citizen use of the joint landfill as follows:
$1.00 fee for passenger cars
$2.00 fee for pickup trucks or cars with trailers
WHEREAS, citizen loads would be exempted from fees during
April and October 15 to November 15 for spring and fall cleanup; and
WHEREAS, all other landfill use fees are to remain as
presently constituted;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council of Salt
Lake City does hereby ratify and approve the above-stated fee
increase for and on behalf of Salt Lake City and directs the City
Recorder to report the same to the Salt Lake Valley Solid Waste
Management Council.
