A RESOLUTION LEVYING TAXES UPON ALL THE REAL AND PERSONAL
YROPEETY WITHIN SALT L 1u7, CITY, FADE TAXABLE EY LAW, FOR THE YEAR
1924.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
That for the purpose of defraying the necessary and pro-
per expenses of Salt Lake City, and maintaining the government
thereof, there be, and there is hereby levied upon all the real
and personal property within Salt Lake City, made taxable by law
for the fiscal year ending December 31, 1924, a tax of eleven and
3/10 (11.3) mills on each dollar assessed valuation of said pro-
perty.
Said tax is hereby levied and to be raised for the fol-
lowing purposes, and is and shall be apportioned to such purposes
in the following manner:
CONTINGENT EXPENSES
To defray contingent expenses four and 3/10 (4.3) mills
on each dollar assessed valuation of said property.
WATER SUPPLY AND WATERWORKS.
To purchase water sources, streams and the land upon
which said streams are appropriated and canals and to construct
waterworks and to supply water for irrigation and other purposes
two-thirds (2/3) of a mill on each dollar assessed valuation of
said property.
STREETS AND SIDEPALI:S
To open, improve and repair streets and sidewalks three
(3) mills on each dollar assessed valuation of said property.
SMIERS AND DRAINS.
To construct and repair sewers and drains one (1) mill
on each dollar assessed valuation of said property.
INTEREST ON BONDS AND SINRTNG FUND
For the payment of interest on outstanding bonds and
to constitute a sinking fund for the payment of the principal of
outstanding bonds two (2) mills on each dollar assessed valuation
of said property.
PUBLIC LIBRARIES.
To maintain public libraries and free reading rooms
one-third (1/3) of a mill on each dollar assessed valuation of
said property.
It is necessary, in the opinion of the Board of Commis-
sioners, for the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of
salt Lake City, Utah, that this resolution take effect upon its
passage and an emergency is hereby declared to exist so that said
levy may be made and said tax collected as required by law.
