WHEREAS, the Federal Government of the United States of America has
recently enacted legislation to provide for federal assistance to cities
under the Department of Housing and Urban Development whereby cities in this
nation, after setting up certain guidelines as outlined in a Workable Program
for Community Improvement and receiving approval therefor by said federal
agency, may apply for and receive federal assistance to launch at attack on
existing and potential decay of urban areas; and
WHEREAS, Salt Lake City is desirous of qualifying for said federal
assistance and has ready for submitting for approval a Workable Program for
Community Improvement to the Department of Housing and Urban Development:
THEREFORE, be it hereby resolved that Salt Lake City formally submit
to the Department of Housing and Urban Development, 450 Golden Gate Avenue,
San Francisco, California, its Workable Program for Community Improvement.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
19th day of January, 1967.
