WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide recreational facilities, public parks and adequate public streets for the benefit of the public; and WHEREAS, the public interest and necessity require a new golf course and public park in the area generally lying between 21st South and proposed 17th South Streets and between the Jordan River and the Brighton and North Point Canal; and WHEREAS, the public interest and necessity require the extension of 17th South Street from the Jordan River to Redwood Road; and WHEREAS, the public interest and necessity require the acquisition of the real property hereinafter described for the above named public improvements; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH: 1. That it is necessary and in the public interest of said city and its inhabitants to provide a public golf course, public park and public street upon and within the area hereinabove described. 2. That the acquisition of the real property hereinafter described for the above purposes is hereby authorized. 3. That the land hereinafter described and the whole thereof is hereby determined to be a necessary part of the above described public golf course, public park and public street, and the acquisition of said land by Salt Lake City Corporation for such purposes is hereby declared to be a public necessity and for the health, welfare and prosperity of the inhabitants of said city. 4. That eminent domain proceedings be, and the same hereby are, authorized to be brought in the name of Salt Lake City by the Law Department thereof to acquire all of the land hereinafter described for the construction of the public golf course, public park and public street as hereinabove set forth. 5. That the land hereinabove referred to and hereby authorized to be acquired by eminent domain proceedings in accordance with the constitution and statutes of the State of Utah relating thereto is situated in the County of Salt Lake, State of Utah, and is more par- ticularly described as follows: PARCEL NO. 1 Beginning 33 feet east from the center of Section 15, T. 1 S., R. 1 W., Salt Lake Base and Meridian and running thence east 450 feet; thence south 54.83 feet; thence west 450 feet; thence north 54.83 feet to the point of beginning. Contains 0.57 acre. PARCEL NO. 2 Commencing 3.6 rods north from the southwest corner of Section 14, T. 1 S., R. 1 W., Salt Lake Base and Meridian, and running thence north 1100 feet to the west right-of- way line, of the Surplus Canal, thence S. 35° 45' E. 946.11 feet along said line, thence south 483.51 feet more or less, thence west 400 feet to point of beginning. Contains 7.60 acres. PARCEL NO. 3 Commencing on the east right-of-way line of the Salt Lake Surplus Canal, 4137 feet south and 218 feet east from the northwest corner of Section 14, T. 1 S., R. 1 W., Salt Lake Base and Meridian, and running thence east 935.0 feet to the west bank of the Jordan River, thence southerly along the west bank of said river to the east right-of-way line of said canal, thence N. 35° 54' W. 970 feet to the point of beginning. Less .13 acre tract deeded to Salt Lake County. Contains 10.79 acres. PARCEL NO. 4 Commencing 2953 feet south from the northwest corner of Section 14, T. 1 S., R. 1 W., Salt Lake Base and Meridian, and running thence east 1595.0 feet to the west bank of the Jordan River, thence southerly along the west bank of said river 1291 feet, thence west 935.0 feet, thence N. 35° 54' W. 372.0 feet, thence north 883 feet to beginning.
