Result RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Salt Lake Model Cities Agency has been an agency operating under a joint agreement, pursuant to The Utah Interlocal Cooperation Act, between Salt Lake County and Salt Lake City; and WHEREAS, the Model Cities program was enacted by Congress and is administered by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development as a demonstration program for cities; and WHEREAS, over ninety per cent of the Model Neighborhood is con- tained within the Salt Lake City limits; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF SALT LAKE CITY, that all necessary steps be taken to dissolve the joint agency and to assign The Salt Lake Model Cities Agency to the Salt Lake City Corporation; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City administer the second action year and make preparations for the Third Action year and that the City assume all responsibilities for the transfer, including appropriate notices and clearances from the Department of Housing Urban Development, personnel transfers, and legal relationships with Salt Lake County respecting the continued participation in the Model Cities program of those areas outside the corporate limits of Salt Lake City; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all such actions with respect to the transfer be completed as soon as practicable, but in no event later than September 1, 1972.
