'BIEREAS, The present water euprl; of Salt Luce City is
inadequate to the constantly increasing needs of a rapidly
growing popolati on; and
\SHEREAS, there has never beer: any systematic conservation
of the abundant supply of available water in the vicinity of the
city; and
':YEREAS, The Fire Underwriters, the Co .me-pr.i q1 Club and
others of th city have repeatedly requested that some action be
taken to establish a system of reservoirs to supply the reruirenents
of the future; and
'.R PTAS, The enterprising and progressive citizens of
Salt Lake City realize the necessity for larger storage facilities
for water and demand that the city government undertake this work; and
'!,!HEREAS, Each year's delay will render the acquisition of
water more difficult and the necessity more imperative, therefore
be it
RESOLVED, that the City ngineer be instructed to rroceed
at once to make a thorough investigation of the possibilities and
the most economical methods of increasing the water supply and to
report ris findings, and to submit pl,.ns ,rd recommendations to the
City Commission at the earliest possible date, as a guidance in
submitting to the people the proposition to vot a. bond issue.
