Fehr - - - Finch - - Moran - Mr.Chairman - V Result - - �{ / SOLUTION WHEREAS, a controversy has arisen between the various banking institutions of Salt Lake City and the tax collecting agencies of Salt Lake County with reference to the validity of the assessment of the banks for taxation purposes; and WHEREAS, said controversy in various forms has reached the courts, both Federal and State; and WHEREAS, it is believed that a portion of said assess- ment is void and unconstitutional, and a proper and reasonable settlement of said controversy should be effected; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City that Salt Lake City favors a compromise of said controversy by accepting from said banks not less than thirty-five percent (35%) of the amount claimed by said banks in said litiga- tion to be improperly assessed. 40,9 Passed by the ward. o Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this I$ day of l ' _, 1929.
