WHEREAS, it is necessary to construct and operate and maintain a large
reservoir and appurtenant facilities at the location hereinafter described
to furnish culinary water at required pressure to the residents of Salt Lake
County who purchase surplus water from Salt Lake City in the vicinity of
27th East and to the west thereof and 7200 South; and
WHEREAS, the public interest and necessity require the acquisition,
construction and completion of the above named public improvements; and
WHEREAS, the public interest and necessity require the acquisition of
the real property hereinafter described for the above named public improve-
ments;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF SALT
LAKE CITY, UTAH:
1. That it is necessary and in the public interest of said city and
its inhabitants and culinary water-users that the city construct and operate
and maintain a large reservoir and appurtenant facilities for storage of
culinary water at required pressures to provide surplus water to users in
Salt Lake County, Utah, in the vicinity of 27th East and west therefrom and
7200 South, all in accordance with the plans and specifications heretofore
prepared for and approved by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City.
2. That the construction, operation and maintenance of the required
reservoir to provide culinary water at required pressure to the water-users
in the area of Salt Lake County as above delineated is hereby authorized.
3. That the land hereinafter described and the sole thereof is hereby
determined to be necessary and the most suitable for the construction,

operation and maintenance of said reservoir and related facilities, and
the acquisition of said land by Salt Lake City for such purposes is hereby
declared to be a public necessity and for the welfare and protection of the
inhabitants of said city.
4. That eminent domain proceedings be and the same hereby are autho-
rized to be brought in the name of Salt Lake City by the Law Department
thereof to acquire all of the land hereinafter described for the necessary
construction, operation and maintenance of the proposed reservoir and
related facilities at the location in Salt Lake County, State of Utah, as
hereinabove set forth.
5. That the parcel of land hereinabove referred to and hereby autho-
rized to be acquired by condemnation proceedings in accordance with the
statutes and constitution of the State of Utah relating to eminent domain
is situated in the County of Salt Lake, State of Utah, and is more particularlyi
described as follows:
Beginning at a point which is 33 feet West
of the Southeast corner of the Northeast
Quarter of Section 27, Towship 2 South, Range
1 East, Salt Lake Base & Meridian; thence South
324.41 feet along the West boundary of 2700
East Street; thence West 440 feet; thence North
495 feet; thence East 440 feet; thence South
170.59 feet to the point of beginning. Contains
5 acres.
