/ TO THE FAMILY OF
JAMES R. BECKSTEAD
WHEREAS, the residents and employees of Salt Lake City
were saddened to learn of the death of James Russell
Beckstead, a long-time employee of Salt Lake City; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Beckstead had faithfully and with remarkable
dedication served as an employee of Salt Lake City in the
Purchasing Department for 34 years; and
WHEREAS, he personally managed and supervised the City's
inventory control for all the equipment and materials pur-
chased by the City; and
WHEREAS, he was known as a remarkable individual and was
respected and looked up to among all those with whom he served
because of his efficiency in carrying out his duties and
responsibilities; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Beckstead had dedicated a valuable part of
his life in contributing his talents and expertise to the
City; and
WHEREAS, Salt Lake City has lost a valued citizen and
employee in his passing.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of Salt Lake City, on
its behalf and on behalf of the employees of Salt Lake City
Corporation and of all the residents of the City, extends its
deepest felt condolences to the family of James R. Beckstead
in the loss of their beloved father and husband.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City this 17th
day of June, 1980.
