WHEREAS, it is necessary to enlarge the Rose Park Golf Course
and to construct thereon all necessary improvements for the purpose of
providing the residents of Salt Lake City with adequate recreational
facilities; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the completion of the Redwood Road
Sewer Trunk Line, as proposed, that a portion thereof be located over,
across and through that certain real property hereinafter described as
necessary for the purposes stated in this and the preceding paragraph; and
WHEREAS, the public interest and necessity require the acquisi-
tion, construction and completion of the above named public improvements;
and
WHEREAS, the public interest and necessity require the acquisition
of the real property hereinafter described for the above named public
improvements;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH:
That it is necessary and in the public interest of said city and
its inhabitants that the City enlarge the facilities of the Rose Park
Golf Course and construct thereon all necessary improvements to provide
the residents of the City with an eighteen (18) hole golf course for recrea-
tional use in that area of the City.
That it is necessary and in the public interest of said city and
its inhabitants that a portion of the real property hereinafter described
be available to the City for the location and construction of part of the
approved Redwood Road Sewer Trunk Line over, across and through said land.
That the enlargement of the Rose Park Golf Course and construction
thereon of all necessary improvements to provide the residents of Salt Lake
City with an eighteen (18) hole golf course for recreational use in said
area and the location and construction of part of the approved Redwood
Road Sewer Trunk Line over, across and through the land hereinafter

described is hereby authorized.
That said land hereinafter described and the whole thereof is
hereby determined to be necessary and the most suitable for the enlarge-
ment and construction of said golf course facilities and sewer trunk
line, and the acquisition of said land by Salt Lake City for such purposes
is hereby declared to be a public necessity and for the welfare, recreation
and protection of the inhabitants of said city.
That condemnation proceedings be, and the same hereby are,
authorized to be brought in the name of Salt Lake City by the Law Depart-
ment of Salt Lake City to acquire thereby all the land hereinafter
described for the necessary enlargement and construction of additional
facilities at the Rose Park Golf Course as hereinabove set forth.
The parcel of land hereinabove referred to and hereby authorized
to be acquired by condemnation proceedings in accordance with the provi-
sions of the statutes and the constitution of the State of Utah relating
to eminent domain is situated in the County of Salt Lake, State of Utah,
and is more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point which is 33 feet North and 33 feet East
from the Northeast corner of Lot 32 of Lloyd's Subdivision of
part of Lots 2 and 9 in Sections 22 and 27, Township 1 North,
Range 1 West, Salt Lake Base and Meridian; and running thence
West 316.4 feet to the East line of State Road Commission of
Utah property; thence North 0°20t East 44.7 rods (737.55 feet),
more or less, along the said East line of State property to the
North line of Gutke property; thence East 313.97 feet to East
line of Gutke property; thence South 44.7 rods (737.55 feet),
to point of beginning, containing 5.34 acres, more or less, and
being contained within the West half of the Southeast Quarter
of Section 22, Township 1 North, Range 1 West, Salt Lake Base
and Meridian.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
