Result RESOLUTION
OF APPRECIATION
WHEREAS, there has been erected upon the grounds of the Salt Lake
City Hall of Justice a flag pole and plaza memorial bearing the inscrip-
tion:
DEDICATED TO THE MEMORY OF BOTH LIVING AND DEAD
FROM SALT LAKE COUNTY WHO HAVE SERVED HONORABLY
IN THE WARS IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
and,
WHEREAS, the Honorable Sherman P. Lloyd, Congressman of the Second
Congressional District of the State of Utah, has graciously and generously
presented Salt Lake City with a flag of the United States of America which
has been flown over the United States Capitol; and,
WHEREAS, said flag stands as a symbol to all men of freedom and
justice and the dignity of man for which principles our servicemen have
served; and,
WHEREAS, said flag will make said memorial complete and will be most
impressive as it is unfurled each day and will lend beauty and dignity to
the entire Hall of Justice complex:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF SALT
LAKE CITY, in its own behalf, and in behalf of the citizens of Salt Lake
City and County, that there is hereby expressed to Congressman Lloyd
sincere and deep appreciation for obtaining said flag and presenting it
to Salt Lake City to be a part of said memorial honoring those who have
borne arms in the service of the United States of America.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Recorder forward a copy of
this resolution to Congressman Lloyd.
