Result
The Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, resolve as
follows:
WHEREAS, the Utah State House of Representatives has before it
the matter of Senate Bill 109, an act providing for the adoption of a
State-wide Energy Conservation Code, which would affect building
standards throughout the City and State; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the provisions of said Bill would allow
local governmental entities the jurisdiction and flexibility to amend
or work with the code to meet special needs or goals of the particular
community to supplement and strengthen the existing local control of
building regulation and enforcment; and
WHEREAS, said Senate Bill 109 has been placed in the Sifting
Committee of the House of Representatives.
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved that the Board of Commis-
sioners hereby endorse the enactment of Senate Bill 109 and would
strongly urge the legislature to support this measure as being in
the best interests of the citizens and entities of local government.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners this 8th day of March,
1977.
