Phillips RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION

WHEREAS, Mr. Earl Davis was appointed on or about the 1st day
of July, 1967, by the Board of City Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah, to serve as a Commissioner on the Planning and Zoning Commis-
sion of Salt Lake City; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Davis has served in his appointment as Commissioner
of the Salt Lake City Planning and Zoning Commission since 1967, and
in this capacity has been involved with numerous projects which have
been of great significance to the quality of life and the environment
of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City; and
WHEREAS, during the course of his commission, Earl Davis has
performed all of his duties efficiently, faithfully and honestly;
has earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues and with the
public with whom he has dealt; and
WHEREAS, the unpaid voluntary service rendered to Salt Lake City
on the Planning and Zoning Commission by Commissioner Davis for over
a decade represents a prime example of invaluable citizen civic
involvement and service by accepting responsible and time-demanding
responsibilities that benefit the entire community; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Davis has recently moved his residence to the City
of Bountiful in Davis County, necessitating his resignation as a
member of the Salt Lake City Planning and Zoning Commission, which
resignation has been reluctantly accepted by this Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City, that the Board does hereby express to Earl Davis on
behalf of itself and the residents of Salt Lake City its sincere
appreciation and gratitude for his devoted and capable services, his
untiring efforts for the past decade to aid, beautify and guide the
wise development of Salt Lake City. The Board wishes him well in
his continuing efforts and pursuits as he now leaves his appointment

of the Salt Lake City Planning and Zoning Commission and hopes that
he will derive satisfaction from the beauty of Salt Lake City knowing
that he has played an important role in its beautification, revitali-
zation and development.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 31st day of May, 1978.
