RESOLUTION
Resuk . . . . OF APPRECIATION
WHEREAS, Homer Holmgren has served as Salt Lake City Attorney for
the past seven years and, prior to that time, served as an Assistant
Salt Lake City Attorney for sixteen years; and
WHEREAS, he will retire from his office on July 1, 1968; and
WHEREAS, his entire life has been exemplary of service and devo-
tion to his family, his church, his profession, his employer and his
fellow men; and
WHEREAS, his kindness, honesty, humor and loving nature have
endeared him to young and old alike whose lives have been greatly
benefited and made more meaningful by his association and friendship;
and
WHEREAS, his great knowledge and experience in the field of
municipal law have been acknowledged by the elected officials of this
state and its counties and municipalities; and
WHEREAS, Salt Lake City and the inhabitants thereof have been
the beneficiaries of his devoted and untiring service on their behalf,
above and beyond the ordinary call of duty;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, that said Board, as individual members thereof
and collectively on behalf of the residents of Salt Lake City, does
hereby express its most sincere gratitude and appreciation for the
devoted and eminently able service which Mr. Holmgren has rendered as
City Attorney and Assistant City Attorney, and for the goodness and
love with which he has enriched the lives of so many others.
The Board hereby extends its best wishes for his continued health
and strength, and the harvest blessings of a life unselfishly spent in
the service of mankind.
The City Recorder is hereby directed to deliver to Mr. Holmgren
a copy of this resolution.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 25th day of June, 1968. 2
