RESOLUTION
Result /*
WHEREAS, the Health Information Testing Center provides
diagnostic health examinations to demonstrate that (1) disease
may be detected early, (2) that patients' medical expenses can
be reduced by early diagnosis, and (3) that physicians' pro-
fessional time can be more efficiently utilized; and
WHEREAS, the Health Information Testing Center is funded
by the Intermountain Regional Medical Program through the
United States Department of Health, Education and Welfare and
the University of Utah; and
WHEREAS, federal funding for this program will be ter-
minated on June 30, 1973;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF SALT LAKE CITY that said Board supports to the program of the
Health Information Testing Center as a beneficial health service
to the residents and employees of Salt Lake City and the State
of Utah and requests Governor Calvin L. Rampton to provide the
state assistance necessary to continue the present services of
the Health Information Testing Center until such time as the
State Legislature can provide the corrective legislation necessary
to continue its vital services.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
delivered to the Honorable Calvin L. Rampton, Governor of the
State of Utah.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 3rd day of May, 1973.
