WHEREAS, John David Rose, Director of Utah Travel Council, has brought attention to the messy and unsightly approaches to the cities and counties of Utah; and WHEREAS, the approach to Salt Lake City from the west is clut- tered with debris, refuse, and unsightly private dumping areas; and WHEREAS, the said approach to Salt Lake City from the west is in Salt Lake County; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF SALT LAKE CITY that said Board be, and hereby does, request Salt Lake County to enact an ordinance prohibiting the operators of all private dumps, except those dumps which are regulated by the County Commission, and that the County Commission pass an ordinance requir- ing any dump to cover the debris and refuse every twenty-four hours.
