Fehr - r �� Finch - Lake , Mr.Chairman - Result RESOLUTION The Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah, met as a Board of Canvassers at 12 &clock, noon, on Monday, the 2nd day of November, A. D. 1931, in accordance with law, for the purpose of canvassing the returns of the special bond elec- tion held in said City on Tuesday, the 27th day of October, A. D. 1931, at which election there was submitted to such qualified electors of said City as had paid a property tax therein in the year next pteceding said election the following question, to-wit: "Shall Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, State of Utah, create an indebtedness by issuing its negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of Six Hundred Thousand Dollars ($600,000.00) for the purpose of supplying said city. with a general storm and drainage sewer and increasing, enlarging, extending and perfecting the present storm and drainage sewer system of Salt Lake City, said sewer and sewer system to be owned and controlled by said municipality; said bonds to be absolutely due and pay- able serially in not more than forty years from their date and bearing interest at the rate of not to exceed five per cent (5%) per annum as shall hereafter be determined by said city by ordinance?" The following were absent: The returns of the special bond election were then can- vassed by said Commissioners sitting as a Board of Canvassers, by ,counting the votes cast in each Municipal Ward, which gave the following results: (See returns by districts on following page) 1 • WHEREAS, a special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, State of Utah, was held at the hour of 12 o'clock noonon Monday, the 2nd day of November, 1931, lin accordance with law for the purpose of sitting as a Board of . Canvassers to canvass the returns of the special bond election held in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Tuesday, the 27th day of October, 1931, ,for the purpose of voting upon the following question, to—wit: l "Shall Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, State of Utah, create an indebtedness by issuing its negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of Six Hundred Thousand Dollars ($600,000.00) for the purpose of supplying said city with a general storm and drainage sewer and increasing, enlarging, extending and per— fecting the present storm and drainage sewer system of Salt Lake City, said sewer and sewer system to be owned and con— trolled by said municipality; said bonds to be absolutely due and payable serially in not more than forty years from their date and bearing interest at the rate of not to exceed five per cent (5p per annum as shall hereafter be determined by said city by ordinance?" AND WHEREAS, said Board of Commissioners have fully and regularly canvassed all the returns of said election and it appear— ing that the judges of said election for each Municipal Ward and voting district within said City, have made full and complete returns thereof, and that said election was duly and regularly held in each municipal ward and voting place throughout said City. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that on the •question of issuing bonds in the sum of $600,000.00 for the purpose of defrayin;, the expense of supplying said city with a general storm and drainag: sewer and increasing, enlarging, extending and perfecting the prese t storm and drainage-sewer system of said City, said sewer and sewer system to be owned and controlled by said city a total of T.488g Dotes were cast at said election; that 3203 of the votes so cast ere in favor of such proposition and for the issuing of bonds there— for in the sum of $600,000.00; and that 1679 of the votes so cast ere against such proposition and against the issuing of bonds for he sum of $600,000.00 aforesaid; that at said election there was end is a majority of ,124 votes cast for such proposition and for he issuing of bonds for the said sum of $600,000.00. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that at said election the righ nd power was given to said Salt Lake City, to incur an indebtedness a I . -4- of $600,000.00 and to issue bonds therefor for the purpose of de- fraying the expense of supplying said city with a general storm and (drainage sewer and increasing, enlarging, extending and perfecting ,the present,storm and drainage sewer system of Salt Lake City, said sewer and sewer system to be owned and controlled by said city.
