Keyser � Knight Lake Mr.Chairman - - - -- RESOLUTION Resnh A RESOLUTION CORRECTING AND CONFIRMING A RESOLUTION LEVYING TAXES UPON ALL THE REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY WITHIN SALT LAKE CITY MADE TAXABLE BY LAW FOR THE YEAR 1932: WHEREAS, The Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah passed and adopted on August 4th, 1932 a resolution levying a tax of twelve (12) mills on each dollar assessed valuation of said real and personal property within Salt Lake City, made taxable by law; and WHEREAS, an error was made in typing said resolution and the distribution of said tax to the various purposes for which taxes may be levied and raised was erroneously recorded. NOW THEREFORE, for the purpose of correctly setting forth and recording the facts adopted by said resolution, said resolution is corrected as to said distribution to the various purposes to read as follows; BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: That for the purpose of defraying the necessary and proper expenses of Salt Lake City and maintaining the government thereof, there be and there is hereby levied upon all the real and personal property within Salt Lake City, made taxable by law, for the fiscal year ending December 31, 1932, a tax of twelve (12) mills on each dollar assessed valuation of said property. Said tax is hereby levied and to be raised for the following purposes, and is and shall be apportioned to such purposes in the following manners CONTINGENT EXPENSES. To defray contingent expenses, five (5) mills on each dollar assessed valuation of said property. WATER SUPPLY AND WATERWOREB To purchase water sources, streams and the land upon which said streams are appropriated and canals and to construct waterworks and to supply water for irrigation and other purposes one (1) mill on each dollar assessed valuation of said property. STREETS AND SIDEWALKS To open, improve and repair streets and sidewalks two and seven hundred ninety-seven thousandths (2.797) mills on each dollar assessed valuation of said property. SEWERS AND DRAINS To construct and repair sewers and drains four hundred ninety-six thousandths (496/1000) of a mill on each dollar assess- ed valuation of said property. INTEREST ON BONDS AND SINKING FUND For the payment of interest on outstanding bonds and to constitute a Sinking Fund for the payment of the principal of outstanding bonds one and eight hundred eighty-two thousandths (1.882) mills on each dollar assessed valuation of said property. PUBLIC LIBRARIES To maintain public libraries and free reading rooms five hundred twenty-five thousandths (525/1000) of a mill on each dollar assessed valuation of said property. SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT AND GUARANTEE FUND A levy of three hundred thousandths (300/1000) of a mill on each dollar assessed valuation of said property is made to the Special Improvement and Guarantee Fund. It is necessary, in the opinion of the Board of Commission- ers for the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City, Utah, that this resolution shall take effect upon its passage and an emergency is hereby declared to exist so that said levy may be made and said tax collected as required by law.
