RESOLUTION
BE IT KNOWN BY THESE PRESENTS:
THAT WHEREAS, Salt Lake County, Salt Lake City, and the Utah
Division of Parks and Recreation have agreed upon the desirability
of creating a parkway along the Jordan River; and,
WHEREAS, said parties further agree upon the desirability of
providing protection to their citizens from the threat of flooding
from the Jordan River; and,
WHEREAS, said parties recognize that development of said
parkway can be accomplished compatibly with the use of parkway
area for flood control; and,
WHEREAS, a program for development of the parkway can be
modified to incorporate a design for flood control; and,
WHEREAS, the parties do now desire to enter into an inter-
local agreement, attached hereto and incorporated by reference,
which will accomplish their mutual desires; and,
WHEREAS, such agreement is authorized by the provisions of
Sections 11-13-1, et seq. , U.C.A. , 1953 as amended;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the undersigned that the
appropriate authority of the governmental entities involved be
authorized to execute the attached interlocal agreement so that
the purposes stated therein may be accomplished.
