RESOLUTION
Result - - -
WHEREAS, certain gravel pit excavations north of Eleventh
Avenue and east of I Street in Salt Lake City have reached the point
of menacing, endangering and jeopardizing the water mains and water
supply of Salt Lake City and are dangerous to the public safety both
by reason of their proximity to the said city water mains and also
because of their encroachment upon the streets and avenues of said
city; and
WHEREAS, said gravel pits have become and are hereby de-
clared to be a public nuisance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that all gravel pits, excava-
tions in which are within fifty feet of any city water main, are
hereby declared to be public nuisances and further operations add
excavations therein are hereby expressly forbidden; the owners there-
of are hereby notified to forthwith cease and discontinue further
excavating in said pits and further excavating therein is hereby
declared to be dangerous to public safety.
The City Recorder is hereby directed to notify the owners
and operators and those in charge of each of said its.
