RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
WHEREAS, Mr. Charles W. Wilson and his staff of employees in the Water
Department have for many years initiated the continuing and ongoing programs
and activities aimed at improving and maintaining continued production of
high quality water for residents of Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County; and
WHEREAS, recently the Division of Health, State of Utah, Department of
Social Services rated Salt Lake City's Water System as approved and that
Office recommended to the Environmental Protection Agency that the City Water
System be approved as a water supply source for interstate carriers; and
WHEREAS, the United States Environmental Protection Agency for Region
Eight on June 5, 1975, rated Salt Lake City's Water System and Water Supply
as having met the 1962 U.S. Public Health Service Drinking Water Standards
for the past year, and granted the classification for said water supply as
approved as a water source for interstate carriers; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Wilson and his staff should be complemented for their
continuing and outstanding efforts during recent years to improve the water
system in order to upgrade its classification for the benefit of the resi-
dents of Salt Lake City and those served by the system in the County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City on behalf of themselves and all the residents of Salt Lake City,
that it does hereby express its sincere appreciation, gratitude and pride
in said Water Department's having received the approved rating, both from
the State Division of Health and the United States Environmental Protection
Agency, for the protection and beneficial use of the residents of Salt Lake
City and those residents of Salt Lake County who use water from the City's
water system, and does hereby commend Mr. Charles W. Wilson for his out-
standing leadership and his entire staff for their dedication and noteworthy
service and success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be delivered to
Mr. Charles W. Wilson as commendation of his and his staff's services.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners.of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
17th day of June, 1975.
