OF APPRECIATION
WHEREAS, James W. Challis has been employed by Salt Lake City for the
past 121/2 years as City Traffic Engineer; and,
WHEREAS, he has now tendered his resignation to be effective January
5, 1968; and,
WHEREAS, during his entire tenure of service for Salt Lake City he
has been a devoted and efficient servant of the city and its residents,
bringing to the field of traffic regulation considered judgment and a
highly trained and technical understanding of the intricacies of regulating
modern traffic in the interest of safety as well as the free flow of
traffic; and,
WHEREAS, he has rendered valuable and enduring service to the city
and its environs in the field in which he has served:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF SALT
LAKE CITY, UTAH, that said Board does hereby express, in its behalf, and
in behalf of the residents of Salt Lake City and its environs, sincere
and deep gratitude and appreciation for the devoted and able service which
Mr. Challis has rendered during his tenure as City Traffic Engineer.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board hereby extends to Mr. Challis
its best wishes for success and happiness in his new field of service.
The City Recorder is hereby directed to deliver to Mr. Challis a
copy of this resolution.
