CL� �' Hogensen Phillips / Prz/ SOLUTION Result WHEREAS, the Downtown Planning Committee for the past 11 years has provided valuable assistance pertaining to the development of downtown Salt Lake City as a service to the residents of Salt Lake City; and WHEREAS, Howell Q. Cannon has served as Chairman of the Downtown Planning Committee since its creation; and WHEREAS, the membership of the Downtown Planning Committee has met faithfully and regularly to discuss, research and prepare specific proposals such as "Target: Vitality" in which the downtown area could be improved and beautified; and WHEREAS, the Downtown Planning Committee has met and worked closely with planners, developers and merchants in order to develop a viable plan to revitalize and redevelop the downtown area; and WHEREAS, through the diligent and untiring efforts of the members of this Committee in providing detailed recommendations and advice to the Board of City Commissioners regarding the development of downtown Salt Lake City, the Main Street Beautification Project has become a successful reality. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City that it does hereby express on its own behalf and on behalf of the citizens of Salt Lake City its most sincere appreciation to the Downtown Planning Committee, Howell Q. Cannon, its Chairman, and the members of the Committee for their many years of dedicated and un- tiring service in making the Downtown Beautification Project a reality.
