"Neslen - Mr.eChaitwan-_ Ltif RESOLUTION Result_ _ WHEREAS, A special election for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of Salt Lake City who shall have paid a property tax in the year 1918, the questions of incurring a bonded indebtedness to the amount of $2,000,000.00 as follows: $640,000.00 for water supply conduit from the mouth of Parley's Canyon to the Northeast Bench, and various feeder water mains throughout the distributing system, water main stubs and lowering water mains; $250,000.00 for the acquiring of water rights in canyons and creeks adjacent to the City, and other sources of water supply, by exchange or purchase, or both, and the development of local sources of supply; $100,000.00 for the conservation and development of City Creek Canyon water supply; $50,000.00 for the City's portion of construction of sanitary sewers; $100,000.00 for the City's contribution toward a Soldiers' , Sailors' and Marines' Memorial Building; $196,000.00 for the construction of storm sewers; $35,000.00 for the oonstruction of bridges over the Jordan River and Surplus Canal; $200,000.00 for the City's portion of street paving; $85,000.00 for the/'City's portion of curbing, guttering and grading streets; $20,000.00 for the City's portion of the oonetruotion of sidewalks; $200,000.00 for Municipal Bath House and improvement of grounds at the Warm Springs; $132,000.00 for paving, buildings and other improvements at Liberty Park, and improving new parks and boulevards; -1- $27,500.00 for paving and other improvements at the City Cemetery; 442,500.00 for constriction of paving repair plant, a West Side fire station and a comfort station in the business distriEt; $22,000.00 for underground fire alarm system; ,has been ordered for Tuesday, February 25, 1919, by an ordinance ;duly passed by the Board of Commissioners: ROW THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the Board of Commissioners i of Salt Lake City, Utah: That the City Recorder is hereby directed forthwith to proceed to select and make arrangements for not more than suitable voting places in each municipal ward in this city, and make contraot for the same; also to select, and submit to the Board of Commissioners for appointment, a list of names of at 111 least three suitable persons of proper polisioal belief, for eaof voting place, to sot as judges of election therein, each said i !person to be a resident of one of the voting districts in the municipal ward in which he is to act as judge. The City Records its directed to make such report to the Board as soon as he con- veniently can. Be it further resolved, That the City Recorder be, and he is hereby instructed to prepare ballots in the following form, for use at said election, to-wit: To vote for bonds place a cross in the square following the word "Yes". To vote against bonds place a cross in the square after the word "No". 1. FOR THE ISSUE OF $540,000.00 BONDS for Yes water supply conduit from the math of Parley's Canyon to the Northeast Bench, various feeder Water mains throughout distributing system, water main stubs and lowering water mains. FOR THE ISSUE OF $27,500.00 BONDS for Yes paving and other improvements at the City Cemetery. No 14. FOR THE ISSUE OF $42,500.00 BONDS for Yes construction of paving repair plant, West Side Fire Station, and a comfort station in the business district. No 15. FOR TEE ISSUE OF $22,000.00 BONDS for Yes underground fire alarm system. No On the reverse side of said ballots: "Official ballot for Districts Nos. Said ballots to be perforated and the stubs numbered consecutively, as pro- vided by law. -5- Be it further resolved, That the City Recorder be, and he is hereby instructed to *sour* copies of registration books, sample ballots, mottoes of *location, stationery, tables, chairs and such other things as may be necessary for such election for each voting place, and he is hereby authorized to incur the expense for so doing, and to employ the neoessary help for holding said election in accordance with the provisions of law.
