Result
WHEREAS, M. p. BLAKM, an employee of the Salt Lake
City Fire Department, sustained an injury while in the lerformance
of his duties fighting a fire at 3rd South and Main Streets on
February-8, 1936, whereby said injury resulted in his death; and
WHEREAS, said M. D. Blake did render faithful service
to his community as a fireman for Salt Lake City for a long period
of time; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting that the Board of Commissioners
of Salt Lake City should record its appreciation of the splendid
service and character of Mr. Blake.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of C ts-
sioners of Salt Lake City does hereby express its appreciation of
the splendid public service rendered and the excellent character
and public career of Mr. Blake. He was a brave and valiant ser-
vant and gave his life in the performance of his duty.
To his wife and family we express a deep and heartfelt
sorrow as we know that Salt Lake City feels a deep personal loss
in his passing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread
upon the minutes of the Board of Co ss ners and that an engrossed
copy be forwarded to Mr. Blake's a
