BE IT RESOLVED that on this day, Tuesday, April 14, 1942
the City Commission of Salt Lake City extends its friendship and the
warm regard of the people of this city for the Fan-American nations
and their people. This is Pan American Day, observed throughout the
Americas on'he anniversary of founding of the Pan American Union on
April 14, 1890.
At this time, when solidarity of our hemisphere is of more
importance than at any time in modern history, it is well for us to
make more than a gesture of comradeship with the Pan American nations.
May it, therefore, be the ambition of every American that this day be
one of sober reflection - that it may serve to bring us closer in
thoua•ht and in action with our neighbors in the PanAmericas.
