Piercey, former Commissioner of Public Safety of Salt Lake City and extending to his family the sincere sympathy of the Board of City Commissioners and of the citizens of this Community. Christensen . . Harrison . . . Romney . . . Mr. Chairman RESOLUTION Result T IN MEMORIAM Resolution of Condolence to the Family of J. K. Piercey: WHEREAS, the Honorable J. K. Piercey, duly elected member of the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City commencing January, 1960, departed this life on the 17th day of April, 1961; and WHEREAS, he has devoted his entire life to the unselfish service of the people of this City with high honor and distinction as a citizen, member and chief of the fire department, youth leader and city commissioner; and WHEREAS, he was highly respected and honored by all who knew him and benefited from his untiring public service; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby pay tribute to a departed member for his integ- rity and lifelong devotion to duty as a public servant, for his endless efforts to serve the interests of his fellow men and this community, for his loyalty to duty and his ready willingness to risk his personal comfort and safety for the preservation of the same for the citizens he served, for the love and humility which personified his associations with neighbors and fellow officers and employees of Salt Lake City and for his most valuable contribution to those with whom he served in his church and com- munity. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be delivered to the family of J. K. Piercey with an expression of our sympathy and our sincere appreciation for the service and contribution he made to the welfar and advancement of Salt Lake City.
