Result
/ RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION
WHEREAS, Mal_ M. Bradford was serving Salt Lake City as a
relief school guard for the Rosepark Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, recent implementation of daylight savings time has
increased the risk and danger of school crossing guards because of
darkness; and
WHEREAS, he has knowingly and willingly accepted the dangers
and responsibility of his position and has kept constantly in mind
the safety and welfare of the children under his charge for protection;
and
WHEREAS, on January 18, 1974, he was struck by an automobile
in the performance of his duties as a school crossing guard and
seriously injured to an extent requiring hospitalization;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, that it does hereby express on behalf of
itself and the residents of Salt Lake City, its sincere and heartfelt
appreciation and commendation for his dedication and service in
protecting the life and limb of children attending the Rosepark
Elementary School. The Board further extends to him its best wishes
for a speedy and full recovery from the injuries he sustained in the
line of duty.
The Salt Lake City Recorder is hereby directed to deliver a
copy of this Resolution to Mr. Bradford.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt ke City, Utah,
this 24th day of January, 1974.
