Result . I RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Salt Lake City, as a municipality, is vitally interested
in and affected by the Central Utah Water Conservancy District; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City strongly
feel that it should have some representation on the Board of Directors
of said District familiar with the City's water rights and water
problems and with the water problems and rights generally affecting
both Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County; and,
WHEREAS, Charles W. Wilson, present superintendent of the Water
Department of Salt Lake City, has been employed in the City's Water
Department for more than 35 years, and during said time has become
thoroughly familiar with the water rights and water needs of the
residents of both Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County and with the
various sources of water available to them and with the various dis-
tribution systems through which water is supplied, and is thoroughly
familiar with the various claims to water in Utah Lake and the
diversions of water therefrom; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Wilson is a career employee of Salt Lake City,
devoting full time to the administration of the water needs of the
residents of Salt Lake City and a large part of Salt Lake County, and
because of his experience and training would be able to make a sig-
nificant and valuable contribution to the administration of the affairs
of the Central Utah Water Conservancy District.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
SALT LAKE CITY that it does hereby recommend to the District Court of
Utah County that it appoint Charles W. Wilson a director of said Central
Utah Water Conservancy District when the court next makes appointments
to said Board.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be forwarded
to the District Court of Utah County.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
20th day of December, 1966.
